RDU to Hold Emergency Preparedness Exercise on Saturday, March 13
Raleigh-Durham International Airport will hold an emergency preparedness exercise to test its response to a major aircraft accident. The Federal Aviation Administration requires all certified airports to conduct a full-scale emergency exercise at least once every three years.
The exercise, named Skydrill 2010, consists of a coordinated response among RDU and emergency medical, fire and law enforcement units from the region. The event was planned through a partnership between RDU and the emergency management divisions of Durham and Wake counties.
