RDU Kicks Off the Season of Thanks with New Customer Loyalty Program
RDU Airport, NC – The Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority today kicked off the Thanksgiving holiday travel period with the announcement of a new customer loyalty program, its plans for assisting passengers during the busiest travel period of the year and a holiday donation of nearly 2,500 cans of food to local food banks.
“During this season of thanks, RDU wants to thank its customers for flying through RDU,” said RDU Airport Director Michael Landguth. “And as a member of the community, we want to support those who are in need, which is why we have partnered with Canstruction of Atlanta to donate cans of food to Urban Ministries of Durham and the Food Bank of Eastern and Central North Carolina.”
Customers Earn Rewards for Parking, Shopping and Dining at RDU
Beginning today, customers can earn more airline miles or rewards just for parking, shopping or dining at RDU. To participate, customers simply register for free for Thanks Again, the official name the new loyalty program.
RDU is partnering with Atlanta-based Thanks Again LLC to provide the program.
Customers can enroll up to five credit or debit cards at thanksagain.com/rdu and choose to receive either airline miles, using their current airline miles number, or rewards, such as cash back or American Express gift cards.
Customers earn one mile or point for every dollar spent at RDU’s parking facilities, shops or restaurants. For a limited time, travelers can earn 100 Bonus Miles for enrolling from their mobile device.
In addition to RDU rewards, each qualifying purchase counts toward special bonuses under the nationwide Thanks Again Traveler Loyalty Program. Members have the opportunity to earn up to 25,000 bonus miles every 90 days based upon cumulative registered card purchases at over 170 airports in North America and 25,000 local businesses nationwide. See http://www.thanksagain.com/RDU for specific Terms and Conditions.
RDU to Donate 2,500 Cans of Food to Local Food Banks
As part of its holiday efforts, RDU is donating nearly 2,500 cans of food to Urban Ministries of Durham and the Food Bank of Eastern and Central North Carolina. During the holidays, customers will see the cans in the form of the Thanks Again logo at the entrance to the security checkpoint in Terminal 2.
Canstruction of Atlanta specializes in building giant structures using food cans, which are then donated to local food banks. In 2010, the nonprofit organization’s efforts resulted in two million pounds of food donated to the needy. The cans in the Thanks Again structure include natural chicken breast, tuna and sweet corn.
RDU to Welcome Holiday Travelers with White Glove Service
RDU is preparing for the busiest travel period of the year with special services to assist and entertain holiday travelers. In addition to baggage assistance, RDU volunteers and guest relations staff will provide white glove service, greeting passengers as they enter the terminals to answer questions and provide assistance.
The Airport Authority has contracted with local service providers to assist passengers with the transportation of their luggage from the passenger drop off and commercial curbs to the ticketing lobby of each terminal. The service will be available during peak travel hours throughout the holiday season.
RDU will also feature its annual holiday music series. For the past twenty years, local musical groups have provided live music to holiday travelers. The series will begin Monday, Nov. 19.
